Jackie was an incredibly strong woman who courageously fought Breast Cancer for 21 years. Her first diagnosis was in 2003 with a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation. Cancer was kept at bay until 2017 when she had a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and reconstruction surgery. In 2020 she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer and it was a daily struggle with numerous procedures and hospital stays until she succumbed to the disease in February 2024. Any cancer diagnosis affects not only the patient but also their family. Cancer does not discriminate. Jackie lived with the strong hope for a cure and to encourage women to get breast checks. If we can help one or two women to advocate to get checked we have done our job!
